Switch Overview

The Gateron Type R is an unusually aggressive tactile switch: Sillyworks set out to build a 100% pure tactile switch with no linear travel at all. Its travel distance is only 3mm, and together with an elongated stem pole and the tactile bump design the tactility begins at the keypress and ends at the bottom-out. Because the travel is so short and the bottom-out arrives so quickly, the Type R sounds clackier than other Gateron tactile switches.
