Switch Overview

The Nixie linear switches were originally found in Nixdorf keyboards in the 1980s. They were discontinued fo decades, and became legendary in the mechanical keyboard community for commanding hundreds of dollars for a single switch in the aftermarket. In their latest MX2A iteration, the Nixie switches feature the classic Cherry "chalky" sound profile with added smoothness from factory lubrication. Below is a sound test of the new Cherry Nixie switches: The added factory lube gives it smoothness and further sound dampening. Below is a sound test of the Cherry Nixie switches: The Cherry Nixie switches are lubricated from the factory, but they may benefit from further lubrication if spring ping or excessive scratchiness is an issue. We recommend Krytox 205g0 for these switches. Cherry Nixie switches only get better with time: after breaking them in for a few weeks, you'll notice an improvement in feel and sound!
