Best 75% Keyboards: Aluminum, Magnetic and Low-Profile Picks Compared
Introduction
A 75% keyboard drops the numpad and navigation cluster but keeps the function row and arrow keys. It is a little smaller than a TKL and lets you press more keys directly than a 60 or 65%, which is why it has become a staple for people who want desk space back. KeyLab DB lists 299 75% keyboards, ranging from 68 to 88 keys.
With that many options, picking one is hard. This guide compares nine staples from KeyLab DB across four directions: gasket-mounted aluminum boards, magnetic boards, low-profile boards, and a DIY kit. Specs are KeyLab DB listings as of October 2026.

Gasket and wireless staples
The EPOMAKER X AULA F75 Max is a gasket-mounted ABS board, and at 960g it is the lightest standard-profile 75% here. It is tri-mode (Bluetooth, 2.4 GHz, wired) with a 4000 mAh battery and hot-swap support, an easy way in if you want a light wireless 75%.
The Womier RD75 Pro is a gasket-mounted aluminum 75% with QMK/VIA. Its 8000 mAh battery is the largest in this guide. It is tri-mode and hot-swappable, and suits anyone who wants to remap freely.
The Rainy75 Pro is a gasket-mounted aluminum board with a 7000 mAh battery and VIA support. The Rainy75 name covers several models that differ in plate and PCB; our Rainy75 lineup comparison sorts out the differences.
Magnetic: for rapid trigger
The Weikav EG75 HE is a magnetic-switch aluminum board that is gasket-mounted and hot-swappable. It connects by USB-C only.
The CIDOO C75 is also a magnetic aluminum board with a gasket mount, but KeyLab DB lists it as not hot-swappable. At 1950g it is the heavier of the two magnetic boards here.
Both are wired only. For the wider field, see our guide to magnetic (HE) keyboards.
Low profile: thin and light
The ATK Yogo 75 Pro is a low-profile board in a CNC aluminum case at 880g. That is light for an aluminum body, which suits people who carry it. It has a 5000 mAh battery, VIA support, tri-mode connectivity, and hot-swap.
The NuPhy Air75 V3 is a low-profile ABS board at 724g, the lightest 75% in this guide. It is tri-mode with a 4000 mAh battery. KeyLab DB lists it as not hot-swappable, so check the specs before buying if you want to swap switches.
DIY kit and upper end
The Athena 75 is a top-mount aluminum kit at 2300g, the heaviest 75% here. It is wired only (USB-C), and you supply your own switches and keycaps. It suits people who enjoy shaping the sound and feel through the build; see Featured Keyboard: Athena 75 for details.
The Keychron Q1 Max is a gasket-mounted aluminum, wireless QMK/VIA 75%. It is tri-mode with a 4000 mAh battery and hot-swap. KeyLab DB does not list its key count.
How to choose
- Mount: 185 of the 299 are gasket-mounted. Eight of the nine boards here are as well; Athena 75 is the only top-mount, and it is a kit you build yourself.
- Connectivity: 214 of the 299 support Bluetooth. Wired is fine for a desk setup, but carrying a board means wireless.
- Magnetic or not: for rapid trigger in games, magnetic boards (58 listed) are the candidates. For writing and everyday typing, the magnetic features go mostly unused.
- Profile: low profile (55 listed) is thin and light but limits your switch choices. Choose standard if you want to pick switches freely.
- Weight: even in this guide, boards range from 724g to 2300g. Deciding whether you carry the board narrows the list fastest.
